SMART Electrical Solutions

When an innovative tech company decided to make the ZEN building on the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering campus its new headquarters, there was no better team than Martin Electric and BBL Construction to fulfill their “Google” style fit out. The customer’s goal of a Silicon Valley style fit out was to help the client attract and retain a talented workforce; keeping them competitive and innovative in their industry.

Services Provided:

Project development (design, budget, schedule), lighting, "green" voltage lighting controls, fire alarm, access controls, BMS, and communications.

As a collaborative, design build project, Martin Electric worked with BBL and HCP Architects to fit-out 46,000 square feet of office space to accommodate roughly 210 employees with growth potential of 400 employees. To achieve the “Google” style, the space features an open floor plan with exposed ceilings, unique lighting fixtures, and brightly colored walls. Martin Electric designed a high-end lighting layout to include the latest “green” voltage lighting controls utilizing digital preset switching for motion sensors, vacancy sensors, and light harvesting. Additionally, Martin Electric design, provided, and installed power and distribution, fire alarm, access controls, building management system, and communications. With the exposed ceilings and “industrial forward” design focus, this project was a rare occasion when our electrician’s everyday detail to pipe bending, layout and installation became part of the design for all to see.

Martin Electric remains the tenants preferred electrical contractor to assist with their growth requirements.
